Sharon N. Berlin co-presented on the topic “Transgender Individuals in the Schools – Lingering Issues” at the 2016 Summer Law Conference sponsored by the New York School Boards Association at the Islandia Marriott, Islandia, New York. This seminar discussed both the legal and practical questions remain regarding what school districts are required to do to accommodate and protect the rights of transgender students and staff in our public schools and the best practices and policy considerations school boards must address to avoid the risk of liability.
