July 27, 2017 Sharon N. Berlin: 2017 NYSSBA Summer Law Conference
Sharon N. Berlin co-presented on the topic “Sections 3020-a and 3020-b – A Timely Update” at the 2017 Summer Law Conference: Keeping Pace and Staying the Course, which was sponsored by the New York School Boards Association at The Hilton Long Island-Huntington, Melville, New York. This seminar discussed suspensions without pay, probable cause hearings, presumptions of incompetence, and required reciprocal discovery, which are all part of the most recent changes affecting the conduct of disciplinary proceedings against tenured teachers and principals – what is working and what is not, and the lessons to be learned from the experiences of others.
