Alyssa L. Zuckerman: New York City Labor and Employment Relations Association Chapter Meeting (NYC LERA)

Alyssa L. Zuckerman, Esq., was a co-speaker on a panel on the topic entitled When Home Becomes The New Workplace: Employee Discipline, Privacy and Other Issues at the virtual New York City Labor and Employment Relations Association Chapter meeting (NYC LERA) on February 28, 2022.  This seminar addressed the issue of the pandemic creating a seismic change in how the work place functions in the United States. Employers, employees and unions have struggled to adjust to a new norm that contemplates home as the workplace. This use of private and personal space in the employment context has created unique issues and presented novel challenges as all parties affected attempt to navigate largely uncharted territory.  This panel also addressed those scenarios that could lead the remote worker down the path of discipline and the state of current law on this issue.
