Adam S. Ross, Esq., presented on a panel in a live webinar sponsored by the New York State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section on the topic “COVID-19 Paid Leave and Employee Benefits: Overview of Federal, New York State & New York City Laws” on Friday, April 17, 2020, at 2:00 p.m.  This webinar summarized the most up-to-date federal and New York State laws providing emergency sick leave and expanded family leave; discussed updates and guidance issued by the United States and New York State Departments of Labor, including employee benefits, job protection and the effect on retirement plans and health plans; and provided updates and guidance on employers who may be exempt from the new federal leave laws.  Panelists will explained the interaction and overlap between the federal, state and other local (NYC/Westchester) leave laws and shared practical advice to questions raised by clients implementing the new laws.
