KEEPING YOU INFORMED…

Unemployment insurance fraud has become a frequent issue for employers and individuals as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.[*] We are writing to advise you that, as a result, the U.S. Department of Labor has updated its “Report Unemployment Insurance Fraud” website with state-by-state information about where and how claimants and employers may report unemployment insurance fraud. The website is: https://www.dol.gov/agencies/eta/unemployment-insurance-payment-accuracy/UIFraudReporting.

A New York employer may report unemployment insurance fraud by calling 1-866-435-1499 or via the New York State Department of Labor’s website: https://dol.ny.gov/employer-unemployment-insurance-fraud. The companion site for claimants is available at: https://dol.ny.gov/report-fraud#ui-fraud—identity-theft (1-888-598-2077).
