April 13, 2023 New NYS Workplace Sexual Harassment Prevention Model Policy and Training Materials

We are writing to advise you that this week, the State published its final revised model policy and training materials regarding workplace sexual harassment prevention. We are in the process of reviewing the changes in the newly-published materials. Employers continue to be required to adopt a workplace sexual harassment prevention policy and provide annual training that meets or exceeds the minimum standards set by the State.
Employers that did not adopt the State’s model workplace sexual harassment prevention policy should review their current policy and training materials and revise them as necessary to reflect the substantive changes in the State’s new model policy. Employers who wish to continue to use the State’s model policy will need to adopt the updated version. The model documents are available at: https://www.ny.gov/combating-sexual-harassment-workplace/sexual-harassment-prevention-model-policy-and-training.
