July 14, 2022 Extension of Authority to Conduct Remote Public Meetings Through August 13
KEEPING YOU INFORMED…
We are writing to advise you that earlier today, the Governor issued an executive order continuing the State COVID-19 disaster emergency through August 13, 2022. As a result, the authority to conduct remote public meetings will continue uninterrupted through August 13, 2022.
The new legislation regarding videoconferencing during public meetings that is outlined in our June 2, 2022 client memorandum will now become mandatory on August 14, 2022 (or later if the Governor extends the COVID-19 disaster emergency beyond August 13).
If you have any questions regarding remote public meetings or the use of videoconferencing during public meetings, please contact Lindsay Crocker, Lauren Schnitzer or one of our other attorneys by calling (631) 694-2300.
THIS MEMORANDUM IS MEANT TO ASSIST IN GENERAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE CURRENT LAW. IT IS NOT TO BE REGARDED AS LEGAL ADVICE. THOSE WITH PARTICULAR QUESTIONS SHOULD SEEK THE ADVICE OF COUNSEL.
