APPR Implementation Certification

KEEPING YOU INFORMED…

We are writing to remind you of the August 29, 2014 APPR implementation certification compliance deadline. By this date, all school districts and BOCES must submit to the SED a completed “Implementation Certification Form” signed by the superintendent and board president. This form must be completed and submitted regardless of whether a new negotiated APPR plan for the upcoming school year has been submitted to the Commissioner of Education for approval or a material change has been made to an existing, approved APPR plan. The SED’s instructions for submitting the certification and a link to the form may be found online at http://usny.nysed.gov/rttt/teachers-leaders/appr-implementation-certification.html and are attached to this memo. Timely submission of the form is necessary in order to avoid a loss of eligibility for State Aide increases.

We will continue to keep you apprised of substantive APPR-related developments. If you have any questions regarding certification compliance, please contact us.

THIS MEMORANDUM IS MEANT TO ASSIST IN GENERAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE CURRENT LAW. IT IS NOT TO BE REGARDED AS LEGAL ADVICE. THOSE WITH PARTICULAR QUESTIONS SHOULD SEEK THE ADVICE OF COUNSEL.
