Scott M. Karson graduated from SUNY at Stony Brook and Syracuse University College
of Law (
cum laude), where he was an editor of the Law Review. He served as an
Assistant District Attorney of Suffolk County and, thereafter, as principal
law clerk to Justice Lawrence J. Bracken of the Appellate Division, Second Department.
Since joining our firm in 1987, Mr. Karson has concentrated his practice on appellate matters, as well
as municipal, civil rights, commercial, real property, personal injury and
criminal litigation. He is immediate past President of the Suffolk County
Bar Association and previously served as Chair of the SCBA's Appellate Practice,
Judicial Screening, Bylaws Revision and Legislative Review Committees. He
is the recipient of the SCBA's President's and Directors' Awards. He served
as Managing Director of the Suffolk County Bar Pro Bono Foundation and as
a Director of Nassau/Suffolk Law Services Committee, Inc. He is the former
Vice President of the Suffolk Academy of Law and has frequently lectured on
appellate practice. He is a former Chair of the New York State Bar Association
Committee on Courts of Appellate Jurisdiction, a member of the NYSBA House
of Delegates and a Fellow of the New York Bar Foundation.
