Candace J. Gomez is an honors graduate of Tufts University with a double major in Political Science and English. As commencement speaker, she was the only student selected to address the graduating class of 2004. She received her Juris Doctor from American University in Washington, D.C., where she served as an Executive Board Member of the Moot Court Honor Society. After graduation, she worked as a litigation associate at a Syracuse law firm representing individuals, corporations, universities and school districts in civil disputes, including civil rights, premises liability, and personal injury cases. Ms. Gomez has also counseled newspaper editors regarding potential defamation liability. Ms. Gomez has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the YWCA of Syracuse and Onondaga County. She works in our Litigation Department, as well as our Education, Labor and Municipal Department.
