Lloyd K. Chanin received his undergraduate degree from Colgate University and his law degree from Cornell Law School, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Cornell Barrister. After service in the U.S. Army, he began his legal career with a Manhattan law firm, followed by a twenty-five year stint as legal counsel and Vice President in the trust departments of two major Long Island banks. Since returning to private practice in 1987, Mr. Chanin has continued to concentrate in trust and estate matters including estate planning and tax related issues. Mr. Chanin has been President of the Tax and Estate Planning Council of Long Island, Chair of the Nassau County Bar Association Surrogate's Court Estate and Trust Committee, a Director of the Nassau County Bar Association and adjunct law instructor at Nassau Community College. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association Trust and Estate Tax Committee.
