Richard K. Zuckerman is a 1984 graduate of the Columbia University School of Law, where he served as Director of the First Year Moot Court program.  He graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in his junior year and received the William J. Sullivan Award, the University's most prestigious academic and service award.  He represents management in all public and private sector labor and employment law areas, including collective bargaining, discipline and litigation related-matters.  His public sector clients include school districts, cities, counties, towns, villages and fire districts.  He also serves as general counsel to school districts and as a hearing officer in General Municipal Law Section 207-c disputes.

Mr. Zuckerman was installed in 2008 as a Fellow of the Governors of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.  He is the immediate past President of the New York State Association of School Attorneys.  Mr. Zuckerman has served as the Chair of the New York State Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section, having previously served as Chair of its Committees on Continuing Legal Education and Government Employee Labor Relations.  He continues to serve on those organization’s Executive Committees, as well as that of NYSBA’s Municipal Law Section. He is also a Fellow of the New York Bar Foundation and an Inaugural Member of the Board of Advisors for the St. John's University School of Law Center for Labor and Employment Law.  Mr. Zuckerman is an editor for the American Bar Association's treatise entitled, "Discipline and Discharge in Arbitration," as well as that book's First Supplement, and serves on the editorial board for the treatise's Second Edition. In addition, he is one of the three editors-in-chief for the Third Edition, First Supplement of the New York State Bar Association's treatise, "Public Sector Labor and Employment Law."  He is also a contributing author to the new 6th edition of the ABA's contract arbitration treatise, "How Arbitration Works" (Elkouri & Elkouri). He has also co-authored articles, including those entitled Romance in the Workplace: Employers Can Make Rules if They Serve Legitimate Needs and Romance in the Workplace: To What Extent Can Employers Dictate the Rules?

Mr. Zuckerman has been named as a Super Lawyer in New York in Labor and Employment Law and as a Who's Who in Labor Law by The Long Island Business News.  He has lectured at numerous programs sponsored by the National Academy of Arbitrators, New York State Public Employment Relations Board, NYSBA, NYS School Boards Association, Cornell ILR, IRRA, Nassau/Suffolk Academies of Law, American Corporation Counsel Association, and others.
