01 Oct New York Releases Final Anti-Sexual Harassment Model Policy and Training Materials
KEEPING YOU INFORMED…
Earlier today, New York State released the final versions of its model policy, model training materials, FAQs and other related documents regarding sexual harassment in the workplace. The State did not, however, release any information explaining what, specifically, was changed in the final versions of these documents. We are currently analyzing and comparing the draft and final model documents and accordingly updating our model policy against workplace sexual harassment and training program for our clients. We will also be sending a follow-up memorandum with an outline of any significant changes in the final documents.
Please let us know whether you would like us to provide you with our final model policy upon the completion of our review and analysis of the State’s final model documents. For those clients who had previously requested and received our Firm’s draft model policy, we will provide you with an updated version of the policy when it is ready for distribution. As a reminder, every NYS employer must adopt a policy against workplace sexual harassment that meets or exceeds the State’s minimum standards by October 9, 2018.
Please see our prior client memoranda on this topic (attached) for additional information related to the State’s prohibition of workplace sexual harassment and related requirements.
If you would like to discuss this law in more detail, or would like to schedule a training session(s), please contact Richard Zuckerman, Sharon Berlin, Alyson Mathews, Alyssa Zuckerman or one of our other attorneys at 631-694-2300.
THIS MEMORANDUM IS MEANT TO ASSIST IN GENERAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE CURRENT LAW. IT IS NOT TO BE REGARDED AS LEGAL ADVICE. THOSE WITH PARTICULAR QUESTIONS SHOULD SEEK THE ADVICE OF COUNSEL.
